Bringing Back the Bungalow: Moody Paint Edition

I used to think that natural woodwork paired with any kind of saturated, moody color would be too dark and depressing. When we purchased our first bungalow nine years ago (in those sad pre-Pinterest days), it seemed like every magazine featured rooms with white woodwork which, of course, paired with any color fabulously. Not so with my house, which had its gorgeous original woodwork (which I loved) but I was frustrated by the lack of color options.

I'm very happy to see that the tide is turning and I'm seeing more original woodwork being paired with moody colors (and rocking it)!
